- SURPRISE!
-
- changed my
-
- scene life!
-
-
- Some time ago I read an article in
- one of the major magazines about an
- anonymous guy who was an unknown
- swapper living the standard life of a
- computer dude for years. After some
- time he got an offer to join a famous
- demogroup and it gave radical changes
- to his scene career!
-
- Well, to tell the truth it
- perfectly reminds me my case. But
- first of all now I will write about
- myself to share my experiences with
- you. With this stuff I'd like to help
- those ones who just joined the scene
- and want to point out my opinion to
- the experienced ones too!
-
- About years ago I was an average
- Amiga swapper (still one of the best
- in my country) of the Hungarian group
- called Cerberos Designs. I had about
- 40 contacts which I got with very hard
- work, hunting for hot Hungarian
- releases to send, even doing a
- papermag just to keep my contacts
- impressed, writing long letters and so
- on. Ofcourse it was not only a job,
- arghh it wasn't at all, it was pure
- fun at that time, including drawbacks
- such as not getting back my
- contactdisks , fighting with the lame
- Hungarian post system and so on!
- And then on a nice day I went to
- Vienna to visit Reebok, one of my
- first contacts! At that time he was
- the leader of Surprise! Productions
- of TRSI. I can tell, that I was
- always attracted by the way he could
- join so famous groups and being "only"
- a swapper! As we knew each other for
- a long time, about 2 years, I felt
- brave enough to ask him if I could
- join TRSI. Actually I did it for fun,
- I didn't really expect a positive
- answer! But he said yes (yo pal!).
- So I was incredible happy about it.
- My dream came true I was a member of a
- world famous cracker and demogroup.
- Nothing else than TRISTAR & RED
- SECTOR! Well, Yeahh! and since that
- day my whole scene life turned out to
- be paradise! (I'd like to point out
- that there are two ways to join a
- famous demogroup; if you are extremely
- talented on a special field or if you
- are in close contact with one of the
- important members.. In my case it was
- little!! bit of both.. hmm one can
- say I was "talented" in swapping huhh
- what?). So as I told before, the
- scene turned out to be paradise to me!
- I sent out some advertisements and
- after a little while I got letters
- from dozens of dudes each day! I
- even couldn't answer all of them, but
- I tried it.. in the first year
- anyway! I was somebody, I could write
- my group in my letter (now it sounds
- very ridiculous to me) I don't want to
- lie, it was a good feeling, really
- good! On the other hand my contacts
- wrote longer letters. I don't blame
- them, it's natural! I became as known
- as a swapper can be. It was a very
- good feeling to see my name back on
- the RAW's chart "who's the most famous
- in a group", and I was very surprised
- to become the third best group in
- Hungary in RAW 4 as I was the only
- member of S!P in Hungary. I neither
- want to point out that I am fucking
- proud of it nor want to say that I
- don't give a shit! If someone says he
- doesn't give a shit about being on a
- kind of chart, he's a liar! I just
- took it as fun as it was! Anyway
- thanx for voting guys!
-
- So what about drawing a conclusion?
- Doesn't matter how good you are if you
- are a member of an unknown group like
- I was one, you won't be successful, at
- least very hardly, but if you are a
- member of a famous also if you are
- lame and unactive as I was last year
- you will be wellknown, because people
- only want to have famous contacts.
- They think famous contacts are equal
- with good contacts, but it's not like
- this! In my case I became a lame
- unactive swapper, because I had so
- many possibilities! I could swap with
- almost everybody, I got contact
- letters from the most famous crews and
- last half year I even didn't answer
- them. So what? Where is the fun
- anymore? If you don't have to fight
- for something you will get bored of
- it. So I became a bad, lazy, unactive
- and laaaaaame swapper.
-
- After all maybe it sounds a bit
- like; hey I am a fucking lamer I
- fooled out you all, I became fucking
- famous and I am the best, but now I
- don't give a fuck! Nooooo it's not
- like this don't misunderstand me! I
- had a great time in S!P, both in TRSI
- and SCOOPEX, I gained a lot of
- friends, not only so called friends,
- but real good ones too! I had lotsa
- experiences, e.g. to be close to the
- fire. Why do I leave SCOOPEX now?
-
- 1. I don't care much about being
- famous anymore I want to take the
- scene only for fun and nothing like a
- business. That's why I stopped
- swapping. Since I did it (about half
- year I had much more sparetime to live
- my real life to work and have fun). I
- can say that after five years swapping
- I am a bit fed up copying the hottest
- stuff to 100 of my contacts and
- cheating with stamps, writing 40
- letters a day! Argggghhh! I better
- keep 5 of my best ex-contacts and keep
- on writing to them!
-
- 2. No doubt SCOOPEX is or better
- was a great group. Mostly nice and
- legendary productions (some of the
- latest ones are a bit exeptions,
- aren't they?). So there is no need of
- an unactive member like me! I just
- feel it was too much pressure to be in
- such a group. There was also very
- limited possibility to meet the other
- members, well every half year on a
- party! Isn't it great? Yes it is,
- but not enough for close friendship!
- I can add that I will stay in friendly
- touch with those guys from SCOOPEX I
- know personally by meeting on parties
- and visiting each other!
-
- 3. There is this friendly and
- promising group called Absolute! which
- I attended to join, because as I said
- I don't care about being famous
- anymore (well a little bit ofcourse).
- (What's the relation -ed ;-) It's pure
- fun. I know all the members, some of
- them for 2-3 years now! Isn't it just
- great?
- I want to serve my country, and I
- felt it was the best way to go!
